About Us
History of GNN
In 2001 a group of nurse leaders, in an informal discussion where great ideas are born, explored the notion of a nursing enterprise committed to the further development of ideas and innovations that would result in creating healthier communities. The initiating impulse for GNN was to create a place where nurses can come together, outside of traditional association, corporate and organizational agendas, and join like-minded colleagues in creating knowledge, tools and resources in a neutral environment where ownership can stay with the creator. Ultimately the intent was to create and share resources aimed at improving the health of communities.
GNN Today
Today GNN is a place where nurses can come together, outside of traditional associations, corporate and organizational agendas, and join like-minded colleagues in creating knowledge, tools and resources to serve the greater good. Through the GNN Foundation and the Institutes that reside within GNN this commitment is supported.
We are comprised of a series of Institutes that allow for dialogue, discovery and research that moves the nursing profession forward and furthers the advancement of healthy communities. Simultaneously a business incubator seeks to assist enterprising nurses in the development of products and services that emerge from their own creativity, wisdom and life experience. The GNN Foundation both raises funds to support GNN’s mission and offers grants and scholarships globally to further this work.
